Moooi makes me smile

Like a fireworks show for your ceiling...

The Raimond light by Moooi is a dazzling sphere of tiny white LED lights. I love seeing this light in a grouping, suspended in a huge space, like at Aria Ristorante in Toronto, Canada. Imagine having one of those lights hanging in a lounge or over a dining table. Wouldn't that be fabulous?

Flower Power!

Call me crazy, but I keep thinking that spring is just around the corner--rather than autumn. Feeling some spring fever, I guess.

I'm in the mood for pretty floral prints. Today I wore a pink floral scarf, which I got at the Victoria Markets in Melbourne, on our holiday, a couple of weeks ago. I'm really liking the look of floral-print jeans, as well as billowy floral blouses. If you want to go all out with the floral look, why not wear two contrasting patterns, on top and bottom?

Here are some floral fashions for you, to spread the flower power vibe. Have a great week, everybody!

Oh, sweet Sunday!

It is a beautiful sunny autumn Sunday here in Adelaide, and I'm enjoying the afternoon... making sauce in the slow cooker, mopping the floors, and awaiting my darling to arrive home from work. Aaah, I feel so relaxed! I hope all of you are enjoying your Sunday, as well.

The other day, I baked a batch of these blueberry-sour cream muffins, and they turned out to be delicious, so I thought I should share the recipe with you, along with a couple of pretty pictures.

Latest update on our quest to find a house:

Yesterday, Glen and I were driving by a house we had seen online, and there just happened to be an open inspection going on. (The window of time was only half an hour! Serendipity? Yes, I think so.) We took a look around, chatted a bit with the realtor, and discussed the various (and numerous!) renovations we might like to do. The home looked well cared-for, but the decor is about 30 years out-of-date, so we would definitely want to upgrade some things, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. It is quite a roomy house, on a decent-sized lot, and in a quiet neighbourhood. We are not in love with the house, but we can see a lot of potential in this fix-er-upper.

As much as we would like to be able to build our Dream House, the cost would simply be too great, at the moment. Buying an existing house, and renovating it, seems to be the better option for us. We're not really in a hurry to move, we just want to research our options. Honestly, I would like to just wait and hope that prices will go down. I'm sure we will work it out, one way or another, and make a good choice.

Fab Frock Friday: Pink Loves Black

I love this beautiful pale pink ruffled dress by Oscar de la Renta for Pre-Fall 2012. Isn't it just divine?

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Artist Spotlight: Anna Emilia

Today has been cool and cloudy here in the land of Oz, evoking the beginning of autumn. It was definitely a good day for wearing a scarf, and enjoying a cappuccino (or three).

This cool cloudy day has called to mind the work of artist Anna Emilia, whose lovely illustrations seem to perfectly capture the delicate beauty of the seasons.

Wishing those of you in the Northern Hemisphere a happy spring, and those of you down here in the "Deep South", as G says, a beautiful autumn.
